Venice Link transfers?
Anyone used Venice Link for transfers (private or shared) from the S. Lucia train station or to the Airport? What's your experience been?
I inquired with my hotel about the service and they weren't familiar; they directed me instead (from the train station) to the water bus line or a water taxi and (to the airport) Alilaguna. While these are, of course, viable options, we like the idea of the transports offered by Venice Link as they appear to be quicker, more direct and better-priced than water taxis.
Not saying I won't go on the public lines, particularly with arrival at the train station, but I thought I'd ask for user reviews before deciding for or against.
Thanks!

I have not used the shared taxi service. I did hear from a friend that she used it and everything was fine. They were the first to be dropped off, so it was very quick (airport to nearest stop to hotel- not at the hotel as a private water taxi would provide). I think they paid 27 euro each (2 people). I don't think they provide service from the train station.
This website is a good one when researching Venice. She has an article on the Venice Link shared taxi-

Update: We tried Venice Link for our outward bound trip to the airport and was quite frustrated with the service. First, the company did not follow through with their confirmation process. I had my hotel call multiple times the day before and I emailed them reminding them to call the hotel with the details. When they finally did call, they requested I go to the pickup point an hour earlier than necessary and gave vague instructions on where to meet the transfer. We even walked to the location at St. Mark's Square the night before and inquired with the Alilaguna booth (which runs Venice Link) and she pointed me to another dock.
When it came to meet my 9 a.m. transfer only two boats showed up. When I provided our voucher (pre-paid) to the first boat, I was told, "Another boat" and it sped off. The second boat said the same thing because we weren't on his pickup list, but by now it was 9:15 and the driver worried that there would be no other boat. I was relieved that he decided to call the number on my voucher. When he couldn't get a straight answer from Venice Link, he offered to take me anyway and, hopefully, straighten it out with them later. As we boarded the water taxi, Venice Link called and asked to speak to me; they claimed that the computer indicated my voucher had already been used, even though it was dated for October 1st. That was not possible, since I did not use their transfer service upon arrival and, obviously, I had not left Venice AND they'd confirmed my pickup the evening before. The Venice Link woman instructed me to go ahead and take the boat, but she may call back during the boat ride. That never happened. I haven't had any odd credit card charges show up or any other correspondence from Venice Link, but my experience makes me hesitant to try it on a future trip to/from Venice.
