Trip ideas needed with young child

We have our vacation time for two weeks in mid-October. Our son will be 14 months old at the time of the trip. Our last several trips have been a week in Paris a few years ago, a week in Rome and Umbrian hill towns last spring, three weeks in Italy a while back and a beach vacation at a resort in Mexico with the extended family.

My husband really wants one of our "usual" trips, knowing that we'll have to slow down the pace with the baby in tow. This year, I really just want to do Mexico again as some other family members are going and I am just exhausted from my job, adjusting to life with a young baby, etc. Any compromises that you can see? Turkey was high on our list as was Argentina. We also were considering Prague and some towns in the Czech Republic. Or Croatia and the Dalmatian coast. As you can see, we're all over the place. Anything I'm missing?

Turkey is the place I'm interested in most but I don't want to go and not see enough. Which would require some flights to the coast and/or Cappadocia... Anyway, I know you all would have some great ideas. Thanks!

Mexico sounds perfect as you'll have family there.

Otherwise, Croatia's Dalmatian coast might be a good compromise. By mid-October you'll miss the crowds, but the weather will be cooler too. But it will be easy to get around and you can have a laid back pace. You can island hop, stay in sobe with kitchenettes, not have reservations or strict itineraries. We traveled there with our 3 year old and found it very easy and relaxing (we were there during the month of September).

Turkey is fabulous, but exhausting.

I was worried about Turkey for that reason. We can do it when he's older. Croatia is sounding kind of enticing when you describe it that way especially since you went with a young kid. Thanks for the input!

If you really love Paris, it's a pretty easy city with a kid, especially if you've been before and won't have a heavy duty tourist schedule. But there's something about a big city that isn't relaxing for me personally. I have a hard time passing Paris up though, and have been there with my kid when she was 14 months old and 3 years old.

Christy, I would love to go to Paris again actually but I think DH wants somewhere new. He's being a little over the top about all of this. :/ I agree, Paris could be a great city to go to although not relaxing enough. Thanks for the thoughts!
