Travel from Castelrotto to Bolzano on Public Bus

Wife & I (and a small group of friends) are planning a trip to Castelrotto in Sept, 2011. I'm trying to get general info on the approximate cost and schedule for the public bus from Castelrotto to Bolzano, and then making train connection from Bolzano back to Milan. Thanks!

See links here: http://www.cavallino.it/index_3.html

I've done it - no problems. Don't remember the cost of the bus, but it was small.

Your hotel will have details--it may vary by season.

I think you can get an idea of the timetable here, although these are only through summer 2011.

Looks like you may be able to compute fare here. Also looks like tickets can be purchased on bus. http://www.sii.bz.it/en/tickets/suburban-ticket

Thanks everyone for your input. One other question I forgot to ask. Any problem w/ taking luggage on the buses? We all will have a large suitcase.

There was no luggage space under the bus. But, when my sister in law and I used the bus, we were able to find seats with an empty one beside us, for our luggage. There were still plenty of empty seats, so we weren't hogging space at the expense of others.

I think there are fewer buses on Sunday, so they will be more crowded. If you have big cases you might do better to travel on a different day. I had a smallish backpack, and don't remember any difficulty.
