Hi!

I have found out "Ticket Mobilis" is a day ticket for Paris public transport.
Physically it looks like normal single ticket but need to be written using day and users name.
In some pictures there are also blue card with that ticket.
What iss that blue card and is it really necessary or can i buy Ticket Mobilis form machine without that card?

When they first came out with these, you had to
have the blue card as it is where you write your name and it assigns you an ID. It comes with a small a plastic sleeve that you could stick them in for carrying around. Then when you buy a Mobilis ticket, after the first one, you are supposed to write your personal ID number on the ticket in the space provided "carte no".

I believe they have changed the tickets so now there is a place to write your name on the ticket itself, so the blue card isn't necessary as that was it's only purpose (took them a while to figure that out). The reason is that these tickets are only for one person, otherwise people could pass one around amongst various people (ie one using it in the morning and someone else in the evening). that is not allowed and the way to control that is to require it be assigned to one person which must be identified if you are stopped and asked by a metro agent. Otherwise you are in violation. So you must write your name on the ticket when you first use it.

Another thing about Ticket Mobilis:
There has been some depate about NOT to validate Ticket Mobilis in the machines on the buses, but instead just show the ticket to the driver.
Reason for this has been validating machines of buses has ruined tickets.
I wonder is this still true nowadays?

There is no debate. If you do not validate your Mobilis pass on the bus, you have no valid ticket. This is the very reason that many buses display the message ¨Je monte, je validate¨.
