Thanks for your help. Any last minute advice?

Thanks to all of you who have helped plan my trip of a lifetime to Germany and Switzerland (Munich, Rothenburg, Fussen, and Lauterbrunnen in 14 days). I appreciate your patience and wisdom very much. Do you have any last minute advice for me (I leave July 24)? Are there things people typically forget to do or take care of before or during their trip? Thanks again for all your help. If you want to email me directly, my email address is [email protected].

Hi. G,

1. Mail
2. Newspapers
3. Pay bills that become due during trip.
4. Relax and have fun.

Have you called both credit card bank and ATM bank to let them know when and which countries you'll be visiting? If not, your cards may be denied.

Don't forget your passports and tickets. Everything else can be found there if you forget. Take along a few snacks that your daughter likes, until she finds things there that she likes better (and she will, and she'll want to bring them home!) Print out copies of all the reservation confirmations and take them along in a folder (I've only needed this once, but it saved the day). A German phrasebook, if you don't have one already. A few extra ziplock bags always come in handy.

Have a wonderful time.

Make sure to Xerox your passport and have 2 addtl pic in case your passport gets stolen...then all you do is bring the xerox copy and 2 photos to the American Embassy and you get your passport faster...

In addition, put your ENTIRE itinerary on a sheet and tape INSIDE luggage- in case luggage gets lost, they will be able to get it to you....

Bring some of the large ZIP LOC bags to keep underwear in...

Don't forget your passport, plane ticket, ATM card, credit card, and info on any reservations (hotel, rental car, etc.) you have. Bad news if you forget any of those!

Also, don't forget to pack a sense of humor to use whenever you meet with the inevitable SNAFU.
