Don't Forget?

We leave for Italy tomorrow. 7 of us. This site has been a great benefit.

On your trip (to anywhere) what did you forget that you wish you hadn't?

Thank you.

Hmm. If I were a Freudian - or my mother - I might think you were trying to tell your husband to look after his own passport, zeppole....

He always looks after his own passport -- which may have been the problem! The last time was the limit, though. He now pastes it to his forehead two days ahead of time.

I just brought it up to remind RKogel not to overlook the most obvious thing.

I'm better at it now but I used to forget to clear my wallet of all non-essential credit cards such as Home Depot or any card we don't plan to use on the trip. Also, make a record of the cards you are taking and a photocopy of your passport(s), kept separately from the actual items.

I've never forgotten these, but there are only a very few things you truly need to have:

airline confirmation code
passport
money (cash/ATM/creditcards/TCs)
hotel confirmations
anything prescription (meds/glasses)

One nice outfit. I thought I was so crafty bringing all comfortable shoes and clothes, but then I was invited to dinner at a nice restaurant in Paris. Couldn't afford a nice, new outfit with the dollar being so low, so I just covered up with my trusty black pashmina and hoped for the best.

We are back. I wish I had taken a calculator and fingernail clippers.

Almost forgot my drivers license though. Didn't need it but good to have.

I see you're back, RKogel, but if anyone else is interested, I would HIGHLY recommend getting/renting a GPS.
