TGV - Paris to Avignon Need Help

Hi, please help

I'm going to be taking the TGV from Charles de Gaulle Airport to Avignon and was told there is a direct connection. However, I can't seem to navigate the SNCF site very well. Could you please help with the following:
1) Where is the TGV station at CDG? Is it inside the airport or is it outside? In other words do I have to take a taxi?
2)How often does it leave CDG?
3) How much is a ticket?
4) Can I buy a ticket and reserve a seat online?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

The TGV station is on the lower level between Halls D or C and F. You can either walk if you arrive at D or C, or take the outside shuttle bus.

The trains from CDG going to Avignon depart at
6:56 AM nonstop - arr. 10:17 AM
10:11 AM nonstop - arr. 1:21 PM
11:21 AM one stop - arr. 2:22 PM
2:04 PM one stop - arr. 5:14 PM
5:04 PM one stop - arr. 8:20 PM
there are a few more at 6:45 and after.

There are a range of prices...

You should be able to reserve online at the SNCF site.

www.tgv.com or sncf.com

PB

Just to point, concerning the price, that when you buy a ticket from the sncf site, the "default" option is "1st class", so make sure to modify it if you want a second class ticket (in my opinion the little difference in confort isn't worth the price difference).

Hi all

I have not reserved my train tix yet, either, for the CDG - Avignon run.

I land at 815 or so and think the 1121 train would give me ample time - is taking my chances on MAYBE getting the 1011 (and not buying my tickets until I get there) a foolhardy plan (it is a Friday morning arrival) or should I be able to walk right up...

thanks

Beth:

Unless you're traveling on a holiday, you should be fine. And you'll probably make the earlier train, too, especially if you are landing at aérogare 2. If you're landing at aérogare 1, count on about 45 minutes to hop over to the other terminal, including waiting time for the shuttle.

Do you have to be under 26 to travel second class on the rails in France and/or Britain?

Catherine,

You can buy a 2nd class eurorail *pass* only if you're under 26. But you can buy 2nd class train *tickets*, and travel 2nd class at any age.
