Taxis in Paris
Last year I rented an apt in the Marais. The night before i was flying home, I called a cab company. I was picked up on time with no problem. This year I called the same company and they told me to call in the morning. I was worried so I called another cab company and was told the same thing. When I called in the a.m. an hour before I wanted to leave, I was told to call 15 minutes before i wanted to be picked up. I did that and they told me there were no more cabs. I called 2 other companies and they all said the same thing. No cabs. It was raining and rush hour. So with a 11:15 flight I dragged my suitcase 6 blocks to the metro (up and down stairs) and then took the rer to charles de gaulle. i arrived with 30 minutes before my flight and happily a very nice agent got me through the long line for checking baggage. My question: How do I avoid this the next time I stay in an apartment?
The cab companies by the way were Taxis Bleus and G7 (forgot the 3rd)

I have used the World Shuttle service several times with good results. Less expensive than a taxi for one person, and they have always come and gotten me when I reserved in advance.

I will definitely check out the world shuttles. thank you for that tip.
My issue with the taxi service is the fact that they told me I didn't need to reserve and then when i called the next day, they said I was too late. I felt like someone was not being honest.
I'm just trying to figure out the system.
