taxi service & grocery in Adelboden
Hello, I am wondering if there is a taxi service in Adelboden and the cost?
Also is there a grocery store open there on Sunday?
We will be arriving in Bern, to frutigen by train- then taking the bus to Adelboden on a Sunday. I understand our accomodations are on one side of the valley and the town is on the other. A steep 30 min. walk - ?groceries for 18 people? yikes
Thank you for your help

Bäckerei-Konditorei-Confiserie Haueter (a bakery with grocery items) is open on weekends from 8.00 - 17.00. They are located on Dorfstr. 27.
I would give them a call (or fax) beforehand and tell them that you will be needing groceries for 18 people. They will reserve bread and any other staples you ask for.
Their address is:
Gerhard Haueter
Dorfstrasse 27
3715 Adelboden, Schweiz
Tel. ++41 33 673 12 34
Tel. ++41 33 673 12 74
Fax ++41 33 673 49 34
Hours open:
Mo-Fr: 07.00-18.30
Samstag/Sonntag: 08.00-17.00
Their website is: http://www.tiscover.ch/ch/guide/5ch,...ra/intern.html
There are two taxi services in Adelboden. They are:
ABC-Funk-Taxi Bergmann Tel. +41 (0)33 673 28 48
Taxi Bandi Tel. +41 (0)33 673 15 15

yes, there is a taxi service in Adelboden. See this website (German, but you'll find email and phone#). They have mini-buses etc.

I don't think you need a taxi - public transportation is excellent and the other side of the valley is served by bus too.
I personally stayed in a hotel there, so I am not sure if a grocery is open on Sunday in Adelboden. I have doubts.
I recommend you buy food in the grocery in the railway station in Bern ...

Yes, indeed, Rex, and it was kind of you to give de's request a boost. --and resulting in two replies from our most expert friends. A homerun!
But, kiddo, between the three or four of us here, don't you think you were a bit harsh toward the lady who was looking for help with her February trip to G/A/S? When I read the bit about "board etiquette", I thought to myself 'maybe Rex got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.' The lecture mode sounded less than welcoming. If I'm sounding the same now, beg pardons all around, but you're an old hand here and can probably take it. Affectionately, J.
