Switzerland train tour, What are the absolute must see places?

We will be in Switzerland for 8 days. We want to do a train tour.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thank You.

cccp; is that as in ussr? Can't resist asking, it just came back to me from Freshman Russian. Switzerland is wonderful; any train, any village. J.

We stayed a week near Spiez, and intended to take some of the famed trains, but the everyday rides (why drive when the trains go almost everywhere, and busses and boats, too) were so scenic that we abandoned that plan. We did take the ride through Gstaad and down into Montreaux, and back, and it was well worth the time because of the views. We didn't have time to take the Bernina express, which is one of my regrets, but we will just have to return.

A lot will depend on where you are staying and which train is most convenient, but I would not hesitate to take a five hour train excursion just to get lunch somewhere, then take the same excursion back.

Take the train from Interlaken up past Grindelwald, Lauterbrennen, to the Jungfrau.
