Suggest Itinerary for 2 Nights in Lake District - Grasmere

Trip planning for June 2017 - We are driving from Manchester to the Lakes on a Friday morning and will be staying at a B&B in Grasmere. We have most of the day Friday, all day Saturday, and will be leaving on Sunday after breakfast (to drive to York).

Can anyone suggest an itinerary for us for our time in the Lake District? We'd like to do some scenic hiking with great views. Maybe a shorter hike on Friday and a longer hike on Saturday. What else is there to do? Maybe a picnic lunch - know anywhere that does pre-packaged picnic baskets? Or maybe an outdoor painting lesson (I love to paint) - would there be anywhere near by that I could purchase a small canvas and paints? Maybe a boat ride?

What will the daylight hours be like? What can we do in the evening?

Thanks!

>>What will the daylight hours be like?<<

The sun will come up about 04:30 AM and set after 10PM - so you can spend your evenings walking, taking a scenic drive, going to the beach, hiking -- whatever . . . then get to the pub just before they close.

Sometimes in the village hall you will find a show put on my the locals:

There are numerous pubs in the Village. If your accommodation is a bit outside of the village take a torch so you wan wander to and from the pub with ease after dark.

How does this sound?

Day 1: Leave Manchester by 9 or 10 and drive to Grasmere (about 3 hours). Check into B&B. Walk into town for lunch. Walk either Loughrigg Fell, Easedale Tarn, or Helm Crag . Return to B&B to rest. Walk into town in the evening and find a pub for dinner.

Day 2: Breakfast at B&B. Drive from Grasmere to Catbells, Hike Catbells. Return to Grasmere. Afternoon tea at Faeryland Café. Relax and find a pub for dinner in the evening.

Day 3: Breakfast at B&B. Leave by 10am to drive to York.
