Spain.looking for small village near Barcelona
Help just booked last minute trip 7 day trip to Spain and leave in 1 week!!!
As it is a short trip my husband and I just want to stay in one place for the duration.
We fly in and out of Barcelona but would prefer to stay in a small town within a reasonable drive from Barcelona airport. We enjoy the country over a city, walking, and really enjoy meeting other people. Any idea of a location / village/ town that might suit?

Having been there a few times, I find the history of the place interesting. We typically don't stay in Girona, but closer to the coast.
You wanted a small town within a reasonable drive of the airport. Girona fits the bill, but if you look at a map, there are several other options, but if you are leaving in a week, there may not be that many options. Have you looked at a map of the area? It might help.

I have the PERFECT place for you, we are going for the 3rd year running in 2 weeks. BEGUR on the Costa Brava 90 minutes from Barcelona. It's a a wonderful medieval village 10 minutes from the beach with fabulous restuarants in the village. There is also a plethora of other villages around to explore.

Check out the above link, that articles was given to me by a Fodorites as a suggestion when we were looking where to go after Barcelona.. It's where we first heard about Begur. We stayed at the hotel Aguiclara.
