Spain, Balearic Islands, and/or Canary Islands?

Spain, Balearic Islands, and/or Canary Islands?
My husband and I are travelling in September to London. After, we're thinking about going on to the south of Spain and the Balearic Islands or the Canary Islands. We'll have six days for that leg. Can we do the south of Spain and one island or is that too much? Any suggested itineraries? Favorite/suggested places in that region? Thanks for the help.

I would say you are stretching it as you will only have 4 days, taking flight times airport waits in concideration Southern Spain will be comming to the end of their season & Canary iIslands are at the start & you will have a chance of better weather there. you can get some good package deals from London We had a home on Gran Canaria & loved it there

We've been to all the destinations you mention. Much depends on how you would like to spend your 6 days: beach? scenery? culture?
If I were to choose, it would be southern Spain. The weather will still be very warm. If you base centrally (Marbella or Cadiz) you can make easy daytrips by car to the white villages, visit Sevilla and/or Cordoba and spend some time at the beach.
If it's just the beach that you want, head to the Canary Islands. Gran Canaria or Fuerteventura will be your best bets for nice beaches.
The Balearic Islands (Mallorca, Ibiza) also have some nice beaches, but not those long stretches of sand that you will find in the Canary Islands. Mallorca also has a lot to offer in terms of scenery, and the capital city Palma de Mallorca is very beautiful.
Note that the first half of September 2005 may still be crowded in Mallorca since it's very popular with German families, and many schools in Germany won't start until mid September 2005.
