single senior woman at night perfomances of Flamenco
I love Flamenco and plan to be at several great concerts.
They are late at night, all people are in groups.
Can I feel comfortable, not lonesome being there?

It's not unusual to go alone to a flamenco concert if you are a real aficionado, and at good flamenco concerts no-one will feel lonesome. If it's great you wouldn't even be aware of yourself ;-)
Several of the great concerts are listed and updated here: http://www.deflamenco.com/agenda/events.jsp?accion=p
The 17th edition of the Bienal de flamenco, the largest and most prestigious flamenco festival in the world, takes place in Sevilla theaters between September 7th and October 6th 2012.
There are also lots of smaller, often outdoor, festivals in numerous towns and villages around Andalucía during the summer months where also the very greatest artists perform. Not many tourists without a clear purpose find their way to such events, and absolute impossible to feel alone.
For example, the Algurugú festival in Arahal just outside Sevilla, can be spectacular. Every June and in memory of the great cantaora Niña de los Peines. The 2010 edition saw some of the greatest female flamencos in the world on the same outdoor stage in one night. In the video, check out up and coming cantaora Rocío Márquez from 4.30, fabulous Marina Herédia from 9.40 and the most cutting edge bailaora on the current scene (and probably for a looong time to come) Rocío Molina from 12 mins. http://www.arahal.es/opencms/opencms...ideo_0105.html

Worldisbeautiful,
If you have the pluck to travel alone, attending a live performance should not take more courage than any other aspect of going solo.
I am a woman “of a certain age” who has traveled solo for several years – really enjoy it. Good luck….

I don't know where you are going but I went to one in Seville and it wasn't like you describe. First, it wasn't late at night (maybe around 9, I think they had two sittings), and the places was set up so that it was kind of like a movie theater in seating, not individual tables. Saved them space, I guess. Each seat had a very little tray table or something for a drink, I guess, but going alone made no difference, I just got a single seat in a row (they seated you), they are always going to have some single seats somewhere.
So there are different types of settings and venues for flamenco, that's my point. There was another location in Seville that wasn't like you are envisioning either.
Lots of people dont' go in groups, either, aside for some singletons, most people were couples rather than groups.

Thank you so much for all of your quick responses.
The first one gave me not only courage but good information on dates of performances and very good, just excellent vieos of two concerts.
I,m swept away. I,ll do my best to get to see and listen
that wonderfuf art.
Thank you for good description of those places, seats and service.
Be so kind, what about other aspects of going solo?
Hope to visit Lagos(Portugal), some of Pueblos Blancos, Seville, Cordoba, Granada,Almeria. It might be 14-16 days, working on my schedule.
Looking for a good agency to help booking hotels, guided bus tours from one city to another.

In Sevilla it would be a good idea to see flamenco in Casa de la Memória in the midst of the Santa Cruz district. Popular with tourists, but this is the real deal and some of the finest young artists perform here, shifting all the time. Many of them have performed in the most important stages and festivals. Intimate setting, only some 2-3 rows of chairs around the scene, no tables, no food, no drink, just flamenco. Performances at 9 pm every night, sometimes also later. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractio...Andalucia.html
