As you want to see the Interlaken area only (as most first timers from America and Asia) you should check the Bernese Oberland Pass.
https://www.berneseoberlandpass.ch/prices-tickets/
BOP for 3 days: 240 CHF
GVA - Montreux full fare: 37 CHF
Montreux - Saanen half fare: 14 CHF
Saver day pass (52 CHF if bought well in advance for the last day
https://www.sbb.ch/en/buying/pages/kontingent/kontingent.xhtml
Totl 343 CHF
Sightseeing Lauterbrunnen: small place, nothing to see but American tourists
You can easily sleep at ZRH (Zurich airport) the last night. There are hotels in all price ranges.

Well, that's only partly true. There are some lovely waterfalls:

And spectacular scenery for those of us not jaded by living in Switzerland.

The word "Lauterbrunnen" means "clearwater*. There was always a lot of water there. In the Middle Ages the valley was uninhabited because of the danger of inondations.
"Grindel Wald" means "rocks and forest
"Wengen" means "clif, steep slope"
Muerren means "above the cliffs"
