Salzburg Hotel and Transportation

Hi. Wondering if anyone has a nice hotel to suggest in Salzburg. Also, does anyone know how long it takes to drive from Brno/Zlin, CZ? Best to drive or take train? Then, how long of distance to go on to Prague from Salzburg?

Thanks!

Karen

Have you checked www.viamichelin.com for driving times and routes?

Enjoy your visit.

Several years ago we really enjoyed staying at the Bristol.

We loved Salzburg.

We love the Sheraton Salzburg for the amenities, staff and location.

For a traditional hotel the Bristol is lovely.

For a more reasonable accommodation, I really enjoyed the Stadtkrug.

Ira,

The ammoos hotel looks like it is 6 miles from the old center (next to the Autobahn). Is that correct?

I would recommend the Goldener Hirsch, but I don't know what your budget is. It is beautiful and has a great location on Getreidegasse.

Hi bardo,

The Am Moos is at the edge of the city. It is a 2 min walk to the bus stop. 12 - 14 min into the center of the tourist area.

Be very careful to check prices in the restaurant (which is pretty good).
We didn't and paid 35E for a martini.

We stayed at the Wolf Dietrich which is within walking distance of all of the main sights in the town.

I second the Wolf-Dietrich. Their afternoon treat of coffeee, tea and pastries was very welcome after walking all day. We would stay there again. We trained to S from Munich and took a bus to the hotel. Very easy. Enjoy your trip. CJ

I posted a reply yesterday but must not have hit "submit". CarolJean took my "second" of the Wolf-Dietrich, so I'll "third" it. Nice rooms, good amenities, quick walking distance to main sights.
