We are a family of four needing accommodations for 3 nights in Roma (two when we arrive and one just before we depart) in late March. We love the Campo dei Fiori area. We know rooms accommodating four are difficult to find. We would like to keep the per night cost limited to $250.00 (U.S.) Any suggestions?

I was in Rome last November with my family and stayed in a quad room at the Albergo Cesàri, closer to the Pantheon, but not far from Campo de Fiori (Via di Pietra, 89A - 00186 Roma, phone: +39 066749701, fax: +39 0667497030)

I think it was room number 17 (I can't remember for sure), and I believe the rate was a little more than $250 US (maybe $275) breakfast included.

The room and private bath were large and comfortable with simple furnishings and appointments (nothing fancy), and the location quiet (on a non-trafic street). We also found the hotel staff helpful and accommodating.

What a coincidence! Albergo Cesari is the hotel I have reservations for in October. I did extensive research to find this hotel. There will be three of us, but they also list being able to accomodate 4 people.

Albergo Cesari looks appealing, but it's too expensive. Unfortunately our third night is the night before Easter and the rate we were quoted was in excess of 300 euros for that night. The other two nights were somewhat less, but still substantially more than the $250.00 US we'd like to pay. We could perhaps stretch to $275 per night. But Cesari was quite a bit more. I did find a place call Antigua Roma B & B in Trasevere. Has anyone had any experience with this B&B or one called Annette B&B (also in Trastevere)?

Be sure to include Trip Advisor (www.tripadvisor.com) as part of your research. We're going back to Rome (3rd time - tossing the coin at the Trevi Fountain really works) in October ands staying at the Albergo del Senato on the Piazza della Rotonda, because it is centrally located for the convenience of our son, who hasn't previously been to Rome and is coming with us this time. But if it were just my wife and me, I'd choose the Santa Maria Hotel in Trastevere. Highly rated on Trip Advisor and other sites and seems to be within your budget requirements.

Our family enjoyed the Hotel Alimandi located half a block from the entrance to the Vatican museum. The rooms are simple but clean and safe and the breakfast (included with the room) was wonderful on their roof balcony. I think this hotel is in your budget range. They also offer a free shuttle service to the airport at certain times of the day.

Santa Chiara 3* located behind the Pantheon, has a quad (2 room suite), it also has a larger apartment type accommodation but that's pricier. If there are any hotels that interest you, contact them directly (email or phone) about quads. Quads are rarely mentioned on booking and hotel sites but many hotels have 1 or 2 such rooms.

The Santa Chiara may be a bit higher than your budget, we paid about $250 for the quad but that was over 3 years ago.

If you dont mind saving a little money try.www.hotelitaliaroma.com.It is near the RR station,spanish steps and within walking distance of everything.They are very friendly and helpful and we left some of our luggage with them when we left for a few days.
