Quick trip report for 4 days in Stavanger

Just finished few days leisure trip in Norway and I am on my way to London and then Paris/Burgundy.

Though the trip isn't finished yet, I couldn't hold myself to share the excellent moments in Stavanger!

Day1 arrived at night, straight to hotel!

Day2 Pulpit Rock!

I drove to Lauvvik and took the ferry to Oanes. My first time driving a car to a big ship. A short 10 minutes ferry only.

Then another 30 min drive to the car park near Pulpit Rock. The drive is v nice with good scenery. But the best ride was on Day3!

2.5 hours hike to Pulpit Rock, As I don't have workout for quite some time, it isn't an easy task for me. My muscle is fatigue after that. But it worths the effort. When we get close to Pulpit Rock, we just stopped and appreciate the mighty Pulpit Rock!!! It's very unique and beautiful.

We are so blessed that the weather became sunny when we arrived. We have a light lunch with sandwiches and fruit, and the beautiful scenery is our dessert!!!!

Head back to the car park after an hour stay at Pulpit Rock.

At night, we ate in Fisketorget, a truly tourist spot I would say. Price reasonable and good food too. Just the waiter (male) is not too friendly.

Day3 Exciting day. lysebotn cruise + car ride back to Stavanger through nice route on the plateau!

I want to say a big thank you to Mr.Gard Karlsen who has recommended this route to me. Highly recommended!!!!'

I started the day with a cruise from Lauvvik to Lysebotn. The view is fantastic and the way to look at Pulpit Rock from down below is equally amazing!!!! We are luckily to see a sea seal lying on a rock. Extremely good cruise. 2.5 hour, perfect timing. Not too long nor too short.

Then I drove up the 20+ hairpin and lunched at the Oygarstolen! Nice pork cheek dish, yum!

I drove back to Stavanger via Sirdal! Extremely extremely extremely great scenery. There are many small lakes formed by the melting ice (I guess). Though the region doesn't have high mountain as in Swiss, the plateau + the small lakes + super white melting ice is very charming. It is even more picturesque than Swiss in my opinion.

Must trying if u are traveling in Stavanger.

I stopped by the Gloppedalsura which is another stunning nature beauty. Never seen a rock as big as they are!!!! V picturesque as well.

Dinner at Dognvill, highly recommended in Tripadviser and she doesn't let me down!!! Burger + milkshake, yum!!!!

Day4 today I meant. Oil museum + horse riding.

A less busy day to start with. Visited Oil Muesum, very educational for my 8 years old son!!!! Good explanation of oil production industry and got a lot of equipment to show to the audience. Worth the time.

After a quick lunch at Kvadrat, a very big shopping mall in Sandnes. Too big and I got lost... Then we head to Tryggvi to have one hour horse riding. All of us has NO horse riding experience. The instructor is so professional and friendly. And the horse is very nice too. An hour walk with the horse made my day!!!!

Dinner at Straen, very tasty dishes. We have fish soup, sashimi, mussel and turbot. Chocolate mousse and ice cream as dessert. All are up to Michelin standard. Full of flavour. Price reaonably, Norway standard.

That bassically was my stay in Stavanger. It exceeded my expectation. Norway is under-validated. Scenery is nice as Swiss, food is high standard, very helpful and friendly local people!

I must come back in near future.

Thank you once again for those shared comments and recommendations to me previously. I am truly satisfied with my stay here!!! Fun and yum!

By the way, it's totally unacceptable to make comments likw, "Why don't you just get married?", implying that the traveler was overstaying the visa limit because of a love interest in Europe. I don't think that can be part of anyone's job description.
