Q re hotel shuttle bus from FCO

My notes (entry 2007) indicate a shuttle bus through the hotel reservation booth at FCO that leaves every 45 minutes til 10 pm to hotels in the city, for 15 E. pp, that doesn't have to be booked ahead of time. I don't know where I got this information from a year ago, but I don't recall seeing any such information on this board. Anyone know if this is current? Anyone used this service lately?

As far as other options, I'm aware of the Leonardo Express, as well as various recommended limo services. What I like about this option, if it's still an option, is 1) price, and 2) don't have to book ahead (in case the plane is delayed).

Holly this is the URL for 'Hotel Reservation' that operates the shuttle bus from their booth at FCO www.hotelreservation.it (it will automatically redirect you to their new URL).

It's now 25e for 1, 36e for 2 and 18e for each additional person.

I took ~2003 when it was 10.5e p/p, later the price went up to 27e for 1 and ~35e for 2.

There were problems with walking-up in 2003 for me.

I waited in line with the people who were also searching for and booking hotels which is time consuming (sometimes multi-city hotel bookings).

I got my ticket but the next group leaving was full.
So I had to wait ~30mins.

My bus left Terminal C and then when to Terminal A (I think) and then definitely Terminal B.
This was a 15-20min delay.

So for me it was 1hr+ before we even left the airport (~15mins in line, 30min wait for next bus and 15+mins doing other terminal pick-ups).

I got to run without proofreading this, there is somekind of sporting event starting in 10 mins that I heard about .
Regards, Walter

There are other economical options such as the local train from the airport that stops at Trastevere so it would depend on where your hotel is. Click on Roma Tiburtina for a list of stops.

Thanks to both of you. Walter, I wonder if it was you who posted about this in the past and that's where I saw it.

Holly, it would have been a few years ago before the prices jumped.

And in '06 I would have used them but it was ~27e for 1 person, instead I booked that 35e limo service.

You might try this one http://www.viator.com/tours/Rome/352...uttle-Transfer
I got a price (didn't book) of 18e for 1 person for next Friday.
I tried to get the price for 2 but I couldn't clear my 'shopping cart'. Regards, Walter
