Public transportation on Labour Day / May 1st - Naples to Amalfi Coast

We will be arriving in Naples on May 1st and were planning to make our way via public transportation to our hotel (Circumveggia (sp?) bus to Sorrento, SITA bus to Praiano. Will we run in to issues with this being a hoiday. We should arrive at Naples airport shortly after 10.00 a.m.

Thanks

You can take the Curreri bus (10€) from the airport to Sorrento then switch to the SITA bus.

Thanks Ky - that was my plan but I was worried that they may have very limited schedules due to the holiday

You mentioned the Circumvesuviana train in your first post. That is the train between Naples (the center, not the airport) and Sorrento. The Curreri bus is between the airport and Sorrento.

There is the Alibus between the airport and the center of Naples and/or on to the port.

There is also the Buonotourist bus from the airport to Salerno where you could change to the Sita bus. It might be less convenient as it doesn't depart until 1:30.

Taxi from Naples would be a set fee. Although Praiano is not listed, Positano and Ravello are so I would expect the price to be somewhere in between the two. Click on Visualizza le tariffe to see the rates. English is page 2.

Sorry - I meant the Curreri bus. I said bus but got the name wrong. Got confused.
Still concerned about the issue of it being aholiday, though.
Any thoughts?

I would contact both Curreri and SITA directly to verify service on May Day.

The contact information for Curreri is on their website:

www.curreriviaggi.it

Here is the contact information for SITA in Campania:

I just received an e-mail from SITA bus lines in Naples: they indicate that bus services on May 1 will follow Sunday schedules.

Curreri aren't one of the local transport lines that I've seen stopping for holidays etc - and their website suggests they run that airport service every day...

If you do want to check, there's a form under Contattaci, or you could use...
