Provence -- need a/c in June? L'Isle-sur-la-sorgue

Just need help with picking a hotel for a 3-night stay, second weekend of June. Big question is whether we need A/C. Earlier in the year I'd say no, later in summer yes, but for early June I do not know.

Availability is a problem (3 persons, not just 2), which is why I've ended up with L'Isle-sur-la-sorgue as our target (recommended St. Remy hotels were full, etc). One place is Mas de Cure Bourse, near town, no A/C. Another is La-Prevote in town, they say a/c installed next week. I have contacted Lou-Soloy but do not yet know if available.
Many thanks for ideas and information.

We are expecting another cool summer this year. However, for the past several years, even in 0-star hotels like Etap or Première Classe, every place in the south of France is air conditioned anyway.

If you are staying close to L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, why don't you stay at our favorite B&B. Les trois figuiers www.lestroisfiguiers.fr. Also Sous L'Olivier. It's all one home. We have stayed here 3 times and it is just wonderful. They don't have a/c, but we've never needed it. The dinners with all the guests around 1 table in the evenings are a highlight! Breakfast in the morning on their pebbled patio, lavender blooming, views of the Luberon. It's heavenly. They also have 2 swimming pools.

Have a wonderful trip.

We stayed at Le Mas de Cure Bourse and found it quite pleasant and comfortable, with a good restaurant. The only trick is finding the place, as it's out in orchards. Be sure to ask for specific directions.

We've have stayed a few times at the Cure Bourse but was disappointed last year when we stopped to dine that Madame Donzé no longer is there. It's been spiffed up alot and you must watch the signs by the train stations that direct you to the Mas. Provence does not have the humidity as we do in Boston summers. If my husband can stand it(who complains about the heat here) than not to worry. We both, though, do not like air conditioning.

we had the best dinner of our June 2005 trip at Mas de Cure Bourse - we stayed in a gite nearby that did not have A/C and were quite comfortable at night [be sure to close shutters during the day to keep interior cool - it's part of the design]

If I were going back to Provence this summer I'd pick Mas de Cour Bourse [alas we are going to Loire Valley instead ;=)

Thanks to all of you for your help. I'll see what is still available, A/C or not, and go from there!

we stayed at villa velleron in june, in velleron (about 10 mins away from isle sur la sorgue) and were very happy there. it is a karen brown recommendation. don't believe it had ac, but it was not needed. we were very happy there. the owners are dutch and speak english, and they restored an old olive mill into a lovely inn. they helped us plan our daily trips, and we did a great wine tasting/picnic and had some amazing dinners, per their recommendations.

given the current state of the environment with the heat waves sweeping through Europe...do you still find this to be true, that we are ok with no AC? Please reply...

Well, if you're coming now, you'll probably want A/C, if you're staying in a village or town.
It was around 85-86 F today, but tonight it's about 70 F and cool enough for sleeping - but I live out in the countryside near Les Baux.

I've stayed a few times at the Mas Cure bourse.
No ac needed. Provence doesn't have the humidity as we do in Boston, though they can be one freaky year.

This June was not all that hot, wren. But I think it was at least 25° a lot of the time in that part of France.
