Prague - amazing trip

Hey guys, we just came back from Prague. It was awsome, highly recommended. The city center is wonderful, full of medieval buildings, small tiny streets and what's most important - beer is realy cheap!

I felt like in a fairytale. If you plan to go abroad, choose Prague!

There was no beer festival when we came, but still, you can get into the first bar or pub and have your private festival there

but you are right ,just head to the nearest bar for your own festival.did you note any bars in particular as i am always on the lookout for other places to try.
i was in Prague at the start of the month 31/10-7/11 and spent a bit of time in several micro breweries all of which i have visitd before but I had a good friend in tow who had not been to them.

We just followed some pubs mentioned in a guide. For example that old one - u fleku. Cool place, but full of tourists.

We were there as well as you say, cool place but occupied by tourists. If you want to explore the czech mentality and culture, you don't want to stay with the foreigners. We had a guide, nativ czech, it was cool. Thanks to her we understood many things

Yeah U Fleku is pretty touristy and the acordian blasting out the Beer barrel Polka enough to drive you nuts.

this is a good website for info on pubs
http://www.livingprague.com/
this wbsite is great for all things prague, I know the guy that runs it and we oft meet for a drink or a meal when we are both in the city, there are lots of links to private tours as well as the bigger compaines, worth having a look through the site.

We found it on this link - ohmyprague.com

Our friends were in Prague before us and booked the guide there, so they recommended this company.

I agree. What an incredible city. So much to see! But a very difficult language!

You make me look forward to our Christmas visit to Prague. Can you please recommend a middle-of-the-road, clean, centrally situatied hotel?

Kovsie, check Best western hotel Pav. I stayed there, few steps from brewery and about 5 minutes walk to the main square.

I have stayed there too, about 5 years ago,the brewery is called U Fleku and worth a vist, easy to walk to old Town Square from there and you are close to trams and metro though the nearest metro (Narodni Trida) is closed at the moment going under total rebuilding, will be another year before it woill reopen.
