Paris Shuttle or other car service reviews, Please

We are trying to book transportation for our trip from London on the Eurostar to an apartment in Paris.. 7005 and then 10 days later to CDG.
It would seem that our apt is closer to the train than to the airport, but the quotes we have been getting are pretty much the same either way.
The Paris Shuttle has quoted a cheaper price , by far, for van service. So the question is..is this reliable?
I don't want to prepay without advice. Help, please

Those van services aren't like taxis, so I think you are confusing them. They don't usually charge based on distance, if you want that, a taxi is the way to go. That is why people like them, they are a flat fee.

You don't say where you are staying )mpt sire wjat 8--5 ,eams but perhaps it is the Latin Qtr and you mean the postal code which is 75005), but I wouldn't bother to book a van like that just to go from the train station to an apt. in Paris. Just doesn't seem worth it even if the taxi fare could be 25 euro or something, depending on traffic. It could well be less, although it can be busy in the middle of day in central Paris, I know. There are obviously two of you, so that isn't really that expensive per person for transportation. I think I usually pay about 10-15 euro when I take a taxi from Montparnasse to the Marais, for example, about the same distance.

I have used the shuttle several times with no problems.
I was confused one time as to where i was at in the airport .And they actually waited an hour on me.Really happy with the service every time.

When taking the Eurostar from London, just follow the signs to the taxi line. We just did this... and there was a line and it moved very quickly. We actually had to wait an extra 5-10 minutes since we needed one that would seat 5, but it wasn't a big deal.

As for the return to CDG, I like to have that booked. I used Paris Shuttle (again, needed a guarantee to seat 5) - they were on -time (8:30am on a Sunday morning) and were great. I would use them again!

We used Paris Shuttle last year from our apt in the Marais to Orly airport area to pick up our lease car. They were prompt, courteous and very helpful with the luggage. Would definitely use them again.

Do NOT hire PARISHUTTLE.COM!
On my way back to the airport, the driver came to pick me up 50 min EARLIER!!!
It was more convenient for them and nobody informed me. Since I was not ready to go yet, the Agency left me without transportation as it was all my fault!
Completely unprofessional and unacceptable.

Alexandra: you are not French, it was your fault.

I'd figure out a shuttle service to take you to the gates of Hades (aka, CDG). Dang taxis cost an arm and a leg (60E from Ile St. Louis). Of course, you'll have to leave 4 hours before your flight -- an hour or so to get to CDG and 3 hours in the pit of despair before they allow you to just catch your flight.

I've done this same trip twice a year for the last 15 years. Take a taxi from Gare du Nord to your lodgings in the 5th,20 E max.For your return call G7 or Taxi Bleu the night before and order your cab. No way it will take an hour ! ANd 45 E should be the max. If you are close enough to St Michel you could taxi there or walk if you are close enough and take the RER.

I was persuaded to take a shared shuttle once and never again. We drove all over Paris as we were the first picked up, then one person didn't show and we waited parked for almost 15 minutes. Thought for sure we were going to miss the plane or get hung up in security

We just returned from Paris -- used Paris Shuttle for trips between hotel and DeGaulle -- on return trip to airport they were very late, rude, and we very nearly missed our international flight because of them -- would never recommend them.

You can walk out the front of the Gare du Nord and take a taxi SO easily. And you can get a taxi back to CDG equally so.

I think it's just luck with any of the shuttle services.

My last trip I booked Leader since I had booked this shuttle for my brother and he was so pleased with them. My plane was late at CDG and they were not there. I recommended them to a friend and they did not pick her up either since her plane was late.

For the return trip I canceled Leader and booked Yellow Shuttle which I have used before. They picked me up right on time but were an hour late picking up 2 other people and their pickup time for a young couple gave the couple only 20 minutes to check in upon arriving at CDG.

I think packing light and the RER is probably the best way to go. Or, if your budget allows, a taxi to/from the airport.

We took the bus from Paris to CDG. Look at this: http://www.parisescapes.com/paris_cdg_to_paris_bus.html The Roissybus leaves every 10 minutes or so. The stop is behind the Opera.

We have also used Bluevan. They were basically on time (8 min. late, but that is close enough for me). I had the come 5 hr. early. Plenty of time to get to CDG, even if they were a bit late.

However, to relieve stress and if you can afford it, a taxi is the easiest choice.

I'm with prepar here, the RER and Metro are really easy and convenient. We found starting our vacation in the French style by using the RER really got us into the mood of the city.

I am arranging for transfer from CDG airport to Asnieres (a city near Paris) for a family of 5 people. Are there taxis in Paris that can carry 5 passengers and possibly 5 pieces of medium luggage? I wonder if it is more economical to use taxi or a shuttle service.

We used Airport Connection (www.airport-connection.com) shuttle service for transfer from CDG to our apartment in Paris, both for our arrival and departure. When we arrived we called the shuttle driver right after we picked up our bags, the van came within 5 minutes to pick us up. There was noone else sharing our shuttle on our way to Paris, we went straight to our apartmnt.
I called and confirmed out return trip the day before departure. On our return there was 1 other person in the van already when it showed up outside our apartment. The van showed up 15 minutes early, the van waited for us and we were actually off to the airport 10 minutes ahead of schedule. Our airport terminal stop was the 1st stop so the additional passenger did not cause us any additional wait or delay.
The driver was friendly and helped with bags. Based on my experience I recommend this shuttle service.

Thanks Nikki for your suggestion for World Shuttle at http://www.world-shuttles.com/ for getting from Paris to CDG.

We used them a week ago and they were right on time. 34€ for 2 of us.

To fully list the possibilities...

Car Air France - pre-determined pick up/drop off multiple points, large coach style buses. ~15e

Roissybus - pick-up drop-off near Opera. ~9e

RER - multiple stops in Paris. Intersects with Metro and some train stations. May need Metro to connect to it. May have stairs. ~9e

Fastest and cheapest - RER. No traffic worries
