Paris parking
Family of seven will be in Paris for three nights in March. We are searching for lodging near Or within Paris with parking. Any suggestions for apartments or hotels which will solve our parking problem are appreciated. Is it practical to consider lodging outside of Paris and training in for our two days?

For a family of seven it is better to stay in Paris. However, I am not sure that the van you will have (a necessity for seven traveling in one vehicle) would it in the public underground garages that dot the city.
The alternative is to look for a hotel near an outlying RER stop. perhaps La Défense.

Why pay for the rental and parking if you are not going to use it? Dump the rental when you arrive and pick up another when leaving.
Three nights in an apartment in Paris would be somewhat of a waste of your time. Checking in and checking out could eat up a half-day each. There are a lot of good hotel options, depending on your budget.

Robert2533 - hotels require check-in and checkout as well. I have never had my time "eaten up" with checking into or out of any of the many apartments we have rented in Paris. With a family group of 7 an apartment is probably a whole lot more economical than a hotel, both for lodging and use of kitchen facilities. Biggest issue may be finding a place that will accept a three day rental period.
What would require lots of time would be dropping off the vehicle and picking up another a the end of the visit. Not advisable, IMO.
I am not a fan of the La Defense area; you would spend a good deal of time on public transport getting to and from the sights.
OP -You don't mention the composition of you group - how many adults, how many children and what ages? Any particular places you wish to visit in Paris?

I think the La Defense area is one of the easiest for commuting into the city, and it doesn't take any more time that it would from some location within the city, especially for tourists. It's a straight shot to the Arc, Louvre, etc., and it's not that far out.
But in general, you don't get easy or free parking except around the peripherique (often outside it) in large modern hotels, there won't be any great deals like that superior to La Defense, most likely. I've seen some to the south that cater to those going to the trade center, or to the NW around Porte de Clichy. I don't think those will be any quicker or easier into the city, but the Ibis at Porte de Clichy, for example, has private indoor parking. YOu won't find that within Paris much, hotels with parking usually use a nearby facility. http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/hotel-...services.shtml
There are probably some around Bercy, also, that isn't too difficult to get to from the peripherique, and it's modern. The Kyriad Bercy has parking (may be a nearby public garage), but of course you pay. http://www.bercykyriad.com/ Bercy would actually be a pretty convenient location, it is within central Paris, but a newer area so has more modern facilities. And it's right near a shopping, restuarant row at Cours St Emilion.
There is also an Ibis at Bercy and they are near a lot parking lot/garage http://www.ibis.com/gb/hotel-1743-ib...me/index.shtml And that Ibis says they have connecting rooms for families. A family of 7 is a difficult stretch in a hotel, though. BUt you can check.
As noted, not very many apartments will rent for 3 days anyway, and to find one for 7 with parking? like a needle in a haystack

When we were traveling a few years back with our elderly cousin who was semi-disabled we stayed at the Holiday Inn St. Germain des Pres, http://www.ihg.com/holidayinn/hotels...sg/hoteldetail The parking is underneath the hotel and we had a smaller van, but if you have a super high car or camper you should check height restrictions
Parking is 18 euros a night and the location is super convenient. There are also a number of public parking lots you could use if yo don't need to park right at the hotel. This site has coupons and also lets you select for parking lots that have space for larger vehicles:
