I'm taking my first trip to Paris in March. What kind of weather can I expect? Any recommendations?

You might want to check the web to see what the average temps are; in my experience, you will need to dress in layers because it can be quite chilly (and rainy), or you can have a heat wave (I base this on the trips I've taken for the past two years in March and April). I'd anticipate the chill more than the heat - bring gloves!

Thanks! I used to live in Chicago and was sued to the cold. Now I live in Texas and get cold very easily. The said average of 50. I would have forgotten the gloves. Thanks for the reminder. I figure brisk days will be good for walking and an excuse to duck in and get pastries and chocolate!

This past March toward the end, it was pretty cool. Not spring even by Chicago standards. Bring a warm jacket and layers.

We have had lovely weather mid to end of March in prior years. Yes it can be cool and rainy but we have been lucky with sunny skies most days. The nice part is that there are already flowers in the parts and planters. Coming from the Northeast it makes it seem like spring came early.

I've been going there since the mid 70s and I tell you March can be really cold. I was just there this past March and was uncomfortably cold. It depends on what you consider cold. I'm from L.A.
I think it was around 10 celcius when I was there. I also go in April and have gotten better weather, higher temperature, then although sometimes more rain. Happy Travels!

Yes, definitely prepare for the possibility that you will be cold. I encountered some snowflakes in Paris on the first Sunday in April this year.

It's not Chicago/New England cold but it is still winter and you're likely to get quite a bit of rain and chilly temps. I would take something like a leather coat or a raincoat with a warmzip-out liner and then a variety of layers underneath.

The weather will be lionlike early in the month, tending towards more lamblike at the end, with daffodils blooming in the parks.

we were in Paris third week of March
2 years ago - it was much colder ( cool wind) than we expected especially at night.
Rained only one day.

Or it can be decent - but really cold/wet is more likely.

And this year in February it was REALLY warm. And now in August it is unseasonably cool (cold). So who knows. Be prepared. Pack layers - and gloves.
