Paris: hotel/apt recs for air conditioned lodgings for 2 kids and 2 adults

I am particularly interested in recs from people who have stayed in hotels or specific apartments in Paris during this summer or last summer. I am looking for a comfortable place, quiet with working a/c, in a convenient location. Willing to spend up to $400 per night but prefer $300 or less. Many thanks.

Is the $400/night for one room or two?

A one or two bedroom apt; for that amount I would hope to get more than a room!

Yes but I wanted a report from someone who actually stayed in the particular apt.

In Paris, $400 per night isn't uncommon these days, what with the poor dollar/Euro exchange.

For reviews of Paris apartments by people who stayed in them, try slowtrav.com.

Try looking at www.citadines.com They have quite a few locations in Paris providing serviced apartments. We stayed in one in May near the Opera which was very convenient and quiet. Cost then was €300 per night for a one bedroom appartment, which was adequate for us with our two children sleeping in the living area.

We're a family of 4 and were in Paris last week... 37C, 36C HOT!

We stayed at the Bleumarine Hotel, Montparnasse in 2 interconnecting rooms with breakfast buffet included for ABOUT $300 a night OR less. The ac was fine (some people complained it was not enough on Tripadvisor).

I can't give you our exact rate as I booked it as part of a package including Eurostar tkts from London but the total for 3 nights inc. tkts was 530GBP...
