paris: Anvers metro
hi all,
we will be staying at the top of the 9th, just at edge by 18th; close to Anvers metro. Does anyone have any idea what the area is like and any thoughts of places to eat?
thanks so much
Pat

You'll be just south of Marche St-Pierre (blocks and blocks of fabric shops) which is just south of Sacre Coeur. To the east is the intersection of Blvds Rochechouart & Barbes. To the west is Blvd de Clichy and Pigalle. More appealing neighborhood(s) would be to the north. (You'd be walking up steep hills and stairs.)
You can "explore" the neighborhood. Go to www.pagesjaunes.fr, click on the British flag, select Paris from the drop-down, enter the address of your hotel. When the map comes up, you can click all along nearby streets, and also resposition the centers to "walk" all over the neighborhood.

The 54 city bus goes to the Arc d' Triomphe and the Trocadero; the 85 to the Louvre and the Luxenbourg gardens. Stops here:
