Paris and Corsica- hopefully a trip report!

I haven't written a trip report in years but figured I would give it a shot little by little since you were helpful in my planning. Also because there is very little info on here on Corsica. We did the first 3 nights in Paris, 5 nights in Corsica and the last 2 nights in Paris. Me and my boyfriend flew separately and met in CDG Airport. We made a plan that I'd meet him in front of his exit and the back-up was to meet at the Sheraton (as suggested by you guys). WIFI was decent so we also were able to text each other using Whatsapp. I did end up having to kill about 6 hours at the airport, I just had coffee, read guide books, walked around, fell asleep at some point briefly.... the time passed. We took the RER Train then the subway to the apartment. We are not the lightest packers and this really wasn't a bad commute at all. It took about an hour.

This was my first trip using Airbnb. We were traveling at a budget level, didn't want to spend more than about $120 a night on accommodations. What a trip it was looking at Paris Accommodations in that price range. Not easy at all. Also, my boyfriend requested air conditioning, also, not easy at all in apartments in Paris at a budget level. We chose the Republique Neighborhood. We are from Brooklyn, this area really reminded me of Williamsburg! We really liked it. I have to say over the years I have becomes LESS detail oriented in planning, so, I will take the hit in saying I did not think of asking what floor the apartment was on until shortly before departure. It ended up being a 6th floor walk-up. I did, however, e-mail the owner and asked directly about air-conditioning. She claimed she had it. Well....... let's just say we arrived on what was (I believe) the hottest day of the year, July 3rd. We did the 6 FOS and then- guess what - she does not have ac! I did not make a big deal out of it as I did not want to put a damper on the trip. I mentioned it to her and mentioned it on my Airbnb review.

All that being said, the apartment was super cute and had French Country Charm. The bed did pull out of the wall, but it was a good size and comfortable. Also because the apartment was on the top floor, we had cute views of Paris Rooftops. We could see the top of the Sacre Coeur. This neighborhood had a lot of artsy, hipstery eateries and stores and was affordable.

To be continued!

Also, while waiting at the airport, I bought 2 day museum passes. I knew that they are not timestamped when you start using them, you put the date on them. So it did not make sense to start using them late Friday afternoon of our arrival. Our plan was to use the Saturday and Sunday to get the most bang for the buck.
