1. Are there two of you?
2. Would you both want to visit the attractions in the 2for1 promotion?
If the answer to both questions is yes, then go for a paper 7-day travelcard for zones 1 and 2; but you would then have to deal with payment for out-of-zone add-ons, depending on exactly what those are.
If the answer to either of the questions is no, then go with the Oystercard. For four days, you might as well put on it a 7-day travelcard for zones 1 and 2 with some additional pay-as-you-go money for trips out of zone.

Even if there are 2 of you, you could still just load some money on an Oyster and IF you want to avail yourself of a 2for1 offer, go to a train station and buy a one-day travel ticket. That's what we did--had our Oyster cards, purchased at LHR loaded with amount suggested by agent there and then the day before we went to the Tower, we stopped by (I think) Victoria and bought next-day's paper one-day travel ticket and used it at the Tower. For us we saved money using the Oyster capped day fares over what the 7day card would have cost, and it was worth the effort to stop by a fairly close train station to purchase the tickets so we could use the 2for1 offer.
You could ask agent (we've had only helpful ones--I've read stories of others who did not have such) what he/she would suggest you load, either cash (PAYG) or 7-day card with any extra cash for out-of-zone fares. There might be some savings one way or another. The daily caps have changed since 2010 so I haven't run an analysis!
