Opinions on using Tripmasters as a package?

Anyone have experience using them? Does it really save money ? convenience? or am i better off making reservations individually/separately as far as hotel accomodations and transportation within the country? thank you very much.

Europeandestinations has had so many complaints like Gate1
they have had to add the name to Tripmasters but similar
issues. The main problem seems to be crap poorly located hotels
which they bait and switch regularly. If you can tolerate that
sometimes you can save with a package.

affordabletours.com Globus others better

smartours.com BBB.org A+ rated

travelzoo.com awesome sales sometimes usually with Sceptre

Not a big fan of tours for similar money I can do just
as well sometimes better getting CC FF miles from airlines
to save on air and betterbidding.com for 4 stars from $80.

Just did this with AA.com France/Spain spent under $1k pp

But tours are the easiest and can be good value

Just research hotels carefully they are usually poor.

Happy Travels!

Thank you for your comments. We would like to clarify some of these notes. Tripmasters was merely built to merge all of our destinations sites into one webpage for easier viewing.
We have not yet merged all sites full time under this one brand due to the brand recognition of select sites. Our complaints department still has a very low complaint to return with travelers at just 3 percent. We are a dynamic tour company geared toward independent travel and selection of individual services by the travelers preference.

Hotel selection is something we are always working on to improve. As you can imagine these properties change from season to season or even owner to owner. We have a team constantly updating our “recommended” properties in which we ask all our travelers to select by. We do offer some budget properties for travelers who may not be able to take the trip without these offers. However, those are not our focus and are not recommended properties.
The locations have been scaled down to only centrally located properties. Unless you are on a self drive package exploring the countryside’s. In these cases you may use your car.

We hope that we have answered some of these lingering misconceptions.

I did a google search for "tripmasters.com reviews" so that I can share my story about this unscrupulous business with anyone who does the same search. My hope is that I can save some people the headaches that I endured by using tripmasters.com web site for my recent holiday travel.
A few months ago we decided to go to Costa Rica during the kids Feb school break. We wanted to visit three different destinations in Costa Rica and tripmasters.com caught our eye. We set up an itinerary through the tripmasters.com web site and submitted it to them. We were trying to match the our itinerary with our friend's itinerary. We both selected the same choices on the websites but it takes a long time to get a confirmation of the flights and hotels that you have selected. After that they come out and tell you that the things you have chosen are no longer available and push you into other choices. Once they approve the itinerary, they tell you it takes 3 to 5 business days to get approval from tripmasters.com. Once they do get back to you, they tell you that the choices you have made are no longer available or the prices are now much higher that the ones quoted. This process takes a long time and they drag you along and make you wait so that you no longer have a choice but to go along with the higher prices that they are seeking. If you try to call their customer service, you will find reps that are not very fluent in English and have no idea what you are talking about. It takes a half an hour to clue a rep into your problem and after that they are not helpful at all. This caused us to have different travel times than our friend even though we selected the exact same flights on the website on the same day. Once all the travel arrangements are made, they email you vouchers for your hotels, transfers, and flights. Make darn sure you read all the fine print on those vouchers because in our experience every hotel that we had booked refused the breakfast that was supposedly included in our reservation because the voucher from tripmasters.com did not expressly mention it. In my opinion tripmasters.com is a scam and a classic bait-and-switch travel agency and I will NEVER do business with them again. We ended up paying thousands more for this trip than initially quoted through the web site. Using this travel agency created a lot of anxiety and stress before and during the trip. Stay away from this web site.
