Only 4 nights - Luberon or St. Remy? Which would you choose . . .
Thanks to all of the advice I've already gotten on the forum, I'm now totally confused as to how to plan our four nights/three to four days in Provence (we also have a fifth night set aside for Marseille - I definitely want to see the Corbu bldg). We definitely have all day Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, and probably part of Saturday (and maybe part of Wednesday on our way to Marseille). What day trips are possible from each of these two bases? Which places are absolute can't miss? Thanks!

The options are mostly the same regardless. Avignon, Pont du Gard, Uzes, Arles, Les Baux de Provence, Aix-en-Provence, Nimes, Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Vaison-la-Romaine, are all possibilities from either base.

I've answered most of your questions in the itinerary I sent you, also on your 2 other posts, and in the e-mail we exchanged - so I won't answer again here. Sorry if I'm hogging your thread.
However, one thing you should mention before analyzing replies regarding places to stay, is that you live in NYC, you will be staying in & visiting Marseille (I still think you may enjoy Aix more), and then you end your trip in Paris before returning to NYC. Those are the two biggest cities in France and the biggest city in the US. If I were you, I would want to include some quiet countryside somewhere in your plans - that's why I suggested staying in the Luberon instead of St Remy. Try Kevin's B&B - he's a frequent poster here. American bathrooms, small/intimate B&B, surrounded by vineyards, great breakfasts, and Kevin will give you lots of great tips & ideas.

You had better reserve ASAP - Easter week is quite popular in France.

I would not agree that "The options are mostly the same regardless."
I've followed Stu's advice on our trip to the Provence and glad I did - the Luberon area is beautiful!
Therefore I'd suggest staying there instead of St-Remy.
I too trekked to Marseille to see Corbu's Unite d'Habitation. Have you been to Ronchamp? Now that was worth the trip!!!

I didn't provide an opinion about where to stay. I would also strongly prefer the Luberon, the most gorgeous area I've come across. The question was about possible day-trips, and St-Remy and the Luberon are close enough that the day-trip possibilities are largely the same.

I like the two-hotel plan: two days in the Lubéron is just about right, and from St-Rémy you can spend 2 days seeing Les Baux, the Pont du Gard, and Arles.
Now...what about Avignon instead of Aix?
