One night in Piraeus before going to Paros by ferry
We arrive late into Athens Airport and intend to get the XP96 bus to Piraeus to overnight there. Does anyone know which terminal at the port the Blue....ferry departs from for Paros?
I would like to book a place to stay that is close to where we need to alight from the XP96 bus probably most important as it will be very late p.m. but also not too far from the ferry terminal for Paros. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Blue Star Ferries for Paros depart from Piraeus docks just opposite the metro stop from central Athens, at E7 on this map: http://www.greeklandscapes.com/image...aeus-map-3.jpg
While it is certainly possible to stay in Piraeus, hotels nearest the docks are not the best. Were it me, I would stay near Syntagma Sq (easy bus ride from the airport on X95) and take the 20 minute metro to Piraeus the next morning. For convenience, I stay at Cypria Hotel, which is reasonably priced and only a few minutes walk from the Syntagma Sq bus stop.

As Heimdall said, it is better to stay somewhere in the centre and near the metro, since there are not many hotels in Piraeus, and the descent ones are overpriced.....
Best area would be Monastiraki Square, where there are 2 Hotels
A for Athens, a 4 star brand new hotel, located directly on the square
Attalos, a 3 star hotel, only 100 meters away.
The metro ( blue line) will take you directly to Monastiraki, and from there you will take the green line to Piraeus on your departure day.
Last Metro from the airport is a:t 23:33 ( duration 45 min)
First metro to Piraeus at: 05:20 ( duration 16 min)

Clausar has given you another alternative, staying near Monastiraki Sq, which has both the blue line from the airport and the green line to Piraeus. That would be slightly quicker the next morning, as you won't have to switch metro lines. However, if you are too late for the last metro from the airport on your arrival night, Syntagma Sq may be a better option, as the X95 bus (24 hrs) stops there. From Syntagma Sq you need only go one stop on the blue line, then switch to the green line at Monastiraki for the remainder of the trip to Piraeus the next morning. That would add, I guess, about an extra 15 minutes to Piraeus.
I've never stayed at Attalos, but have stayed at Cecil Hotel, which is just a little further up Athinas Street from Monastiraki Sq. The last few times I've been to Athens I've stayed at Cypria, because it is very handy to Syntagma Sq, and the rooms have generous sized bathrooms. Cypria is just off Ermou St, about 100m from Syntagma Sq and the bus stop.

I think a third option would be to avoid a hotel right on Piraeus port, but still stay somewhere centraly on Piraeus. Somewhere like Savoy, or Noufara, although very basic, are conveniently located to take a nice stroll around Town Hall area and onwards to Pasalimani for a pleasant dinner. Or even flad a taxi down from the road towards scenic Mikrolimano for a leisure dinner and drink. Next morning, it is something like a 10 minutes bus ride from Town Hall Square area to the port , or a cheap taxi ride.
