nook and I Pad charges i

WE are taking a river cruise on the Danube and wonder if anyone had a problem using a converter to charge nook or I Pad.

You probably don't need a converter, just an adapter. Most high tech devices will accept a range of 110 - 240 volts. Look at the small print on the device itself.

The adapter allows a US-style plug to be used in a European outlet. Adapters are inexpensive and readily available at travel stores.

Thank you Mimar for your response. I do have an adapter but I was wondering if there migh be some damage to the nook if using the adapter

For any device, just look at the regular charger - it will show you what range of voltage and current it can handle. The Nook, and just about every other electronic device made recently accepts 110-240 volts. I haven't taken a converter for anything in ages.

One caveat - any type of heating appliance for the US market will probably cause problems no matter what the information on the appliance says. The reason for this is that the total wattage on US appliances is generally higher than for Europe and can overload circuits.

I was happy with this idea until my nokia recently rejected by adaptor "this adaptor is not on my list of acceptable adaptors" I had the volts correct and all.

Nokia sucks - too many proprietary restrictions. Has more to do with the company than the adapter.
