We are going to be in Florence in mid October . Can any one recommend a decent hotel near the airport? We have a very early morning flight. Thanks!

Julie, I can't recommend an airport hotel, but I assure you that the airport is less than 20 minutes from the center of Florence, so you needn't worry about moving to an airport hotel. I had an early morning flight myself.

Agree with Elaine. I don't think airports hotels actually exist in Florence. Until a few years ago, it was primarily a private airport without commercial flights.

Vespucci (FLR) airport is 5 km <BR>from Florence. <BR>A Sita bus leaves the SMNovella RR <BR>station every hour to the Airport. <BR>Bus nr. 62 ATAF every 20 mins. <BR>Taxi which is the fastest and should <BR>take no more than ten minutes in non <BR>rush hour. Stay your last night in <BR>Firenze and enjoy an excellant dinner. <BR>Richard of La Grange Park, IL&gt;.. <BR>The hotel can make your wakeup call and <BR>taxi reservations the nite before if so <BR>asked. rjv

Hi Richard, <BR> <BR>Thanks for your reply. Our flight leaves at 6:50 a.m.and we need to be to the airport @ 5 a.m. for an international flight. That was my only thought wanting to possibly be closer to the airport. I didn't know that the airport is only 5 km away. Having a nice meal sounds great!
