NAtional Express-Victoria to Heathrow
I would just like to post a good recommendation for National Express Coach from Victoria Station to Heathrow.
My son and I paid 4 GBP each for a great transport-air-conditioned, comfortable seating and luggage was stored under the bus.
Coach ride took about 45 minutes at 12:00 Noon...
Since we flew from Italy to Gatwick, and needed to be at Heathrow the next day, we stayed at Victoria Inn (Central London- 5 min. walk from the station) and took the bus to Heathrow.
It gave us one more night in Central London and some early hours to see the changing of the guard.
I would use the National Express again. Service was excellent and easy to use, not to mention- affordable.

how frequent does this service run - does it run from Victoria Station (train) or Victoria Coach Station a few blocks away - i suspose the latter?
where does it drop you off at Heathrow - each terminal or do you still have to hop Heathrow Express to terminal 4?

Since my recent experience in London (highly congested, congestion-zone) traffic, I'd hate to rely on anything vehicular for an important trip. It took us 45 minutes to get across central London from King's Cross to Sloane Square -- at about 2 PM on a Friday afternoon. Of course, the tube isn't always reliable either.

We took the Express from Victoria Coach to Heathrow (not the other way around). When we arrived at Heathrow coming in, we took the private car through Just Airports (31 GBP).
You do still have to ride the Airport Shuttle (is that the express??) to get to Term.4.
The website lists the times, but I think it about every 30 minutes.
PS" I loved the tube for most things...but I did not tackle it with the luggage. Maybe next time...since many tube stations had only stairs, it was daunting with my luggage.
This is a bit frivolous and lazy, but I actually took the Taxi to the coach station (4 GBP)...for both of us with luggage....We could have easily walked, but my son had worn his luggage out and it was beginning to drag along the sidewalks. Good thing, we were on our last leg of the journey.
