Museum Pass Question

Hey follow Fodorites, we are 2 weeks from our trip to Paris (also for two weeks) and had a quick question about the Museum Pass some of the trip reports mention. I did some research on it, but had this question. Is the 3 or 5 day pass consecutive, or can one go Monday, Wednesday, Sat. and the following Tues? Any help is always appreciated.

another question-
My son is 18 years old - does he go in free at museums? Does he need to stand in line if we,the parents, have museum passes? Does he need to show ID?

The Louvre web site says "under 18." Don't know if all have the same rule.
