MOTHER/DAUGHTER TRIP
2 moms with daughters (14 yrs old) travelling to Italy. Want to go to Venice for 3 days...off to Florence for 2 days and on to Rome for 4 days. Will travel via rail. Is this an unreasonable itinerary? Can someone tell me how long the train rides are between these cities? Appreciate any travel thoughts/suggestions/etc. you may have. ciao!

You'll have a wonderful time. You can view the train schedules for Italy on any of the rail websites, but I find the German one (www.bahn.de) easiest to use (just select English from the menu on the left side). When we go, I print out and take along copies of several alternative departure times, generally selecting the ones with the fewest train changes.
