Moscow/St.Petersburg

Planning a trip to both cities for the end of November. What kind of weather I can expect? Suggestions need for English speaking guides and tour companies.
Tks.

I am planning the same trip at the same time! thus far my research has revealed that the weather will be rather horrid. Very Cold and wet, but not pretty snow wet, slushy mess wet. So it's not the best time to go. But, better than not going at all right!? So pack well and bring good boots!!

Coming from Chicago, we LOVE winter. The only reason we are going is that our son is conducting some music both in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
Can you suggest some hotels in both cities, infromation re Engish speaking guides and/or tour guides?
Are you aware that AA is now flying N/S Chicago-Moscow? This is such a popular route that you can use 40,000 FF miles.

Hi Elaine! I am also going because of family - my sister is there and wants us to come for thanksgiving (she plans to invite her Russian friends, which should be a hoot. Have NO idea if we can get a Turkey in Moscow!) I will be staying with my sister in Moscow so luckily no hotel issues there. But for St Pete's I was thinking of the grand hotel or picking something else from the fodor's guide books, since they have never led us astray. I am flying from Washington DC - United is supposed to start nonstop to moscow from D.C. in October, so I am hoping we can take that and use FF miles to upgrade - it's a long way to go in coach!! Plan to have my sis show us around moscow. For St petes, I haven't decided what to do yet!

Looks like we will be there at the same time. You get the turkey and I will bring the cranberries. I think we should have no problem getting potatoes.
Years ago we were living in Berlin and I wanted to make TKSG dinner for our friends only to have my husband remind me the Pilgrims never made it to Berlin. Sa for Russia, right.
Hope you get FF for United.
