Meeting at CDG - contingent plan

My sister is coming in on Delta at 7:45 a.m.(hall 2c) and plans to meet us coming in on American at 10:00 a.m.(hall 2a) at the meet and greet area for American.

If our flight is delayed, she plans to take a taxi to the hotel. How could she leave us a message? Is there anywhere at the airport to leave someone a message? Or should she try to leave a message with the hotel? Any ideas?

I called American Airlines and was told that there is a way to leave a message or page someone through the airport rather than through American Airlines. Anyone ever use this service?

I think you are making this way too complicated. All airports having paging services, I thought, although you can't hardly ever understand them anyway.

If your flight is delayed, you will know it. So, if she isn't at the place to meet you when your flight is delayed, I would think you would assume she had gone to the hotel. If you want to call the hotel to see if she's checked in, you can do so. Wouldn't that be the usual way to check if someone was at a hotel? If for some strange reason, she is not waiting for you but hasn't gone to your hotel when your flight is delayed, I would hope she has enough information to get to the hotel on her own.

Well, you are right. That is exactly what I said we should do. I thought it was simple but then someone started grilling me on what I would do IF. So, just trying to think of everything.

I know there is a paging system but have you ever tried to leave a message for someone?

I don't know what the issue is.

Plan A: Sister will go to the hotel alone if your flight is more than [pick a number] minutes late.

Plan B: Sister will stay put at CDG until your plane either limps in or is reported lost.

No message needed, since everyone is on the same timebase.

The simple Plan A/Plan B makes sense. But you know, I'd just take all indecision/confusion out of the equation. Since there is every liklihood your sister will have nearly 3 hours to kill - I'd just arrange from the get go to meet up at the hotel.

No doubt about whether you missed each other at the airport or missed a page, should wait longer, or whatever . . . .

I think the default position should be plan B. After all, sis can wait for you stragglers anywhere, and it can be done for 50€ less at the airport (I'm thinking of the supernumerary taxi fare).

Budget is definitely a consideration. She probably would not be able to check in at the hotel anyway in the morning and prefers to wait for us. Thanks for your input.
