I can't find a station on the SNCF site. BTW it's Ile sur la Sorgue. Probably someone else here will be able to tell you what stations are close to the town or if there is a station in town. I don't remember seeing one. Rick Steves is often wrong.
My question to you is why are you not renting a car. It's the best way to see Provence, especially the small towns.

I'm not renting a car because my family will be in Marseille for 3 weeks while my hubbie goes to school. One weekend we'll rent a car to go into Provence. But if my daughter and I want to take day trips during the week by ourselves, I don't want to rent a car. So...I am trying to figure out all the little towns close to Marseille I can get to by bus or train. We leave in 2-1/2 weeks. Any suggestions?

Yep - there is a train. It leaves Marseille St Charles at 6:36am and gets into the l'Isle-Fontaine-d-V station at 8:03. There are other schedules later in the day - but I'm guessing that you want to get to the Sunday market. The later Sunday trains get you to l'Isle sur la Sorgue after the market closes.
