Luggage storage in Barcelona?
We are arriving in Barcelona on a cruise and are taking a late flight out of Barcelona on Easyjet.
Is there a place we can store our luggage for the day so that we can sightsee before heading to the airport in the evening?
I had heard there might be lockers or luggage hold at train stations.
Does anyone know if that is true? Or know of any websites that would provide such information?
If so, which stations would be best for transportation to the airport? How long would it take to get to the airport?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Ami

Hi Ami,
I hope I´m not confusing it but I´m pretty sure that maybe three years ago it was possible to leave luggage at the train station in Barcelona from where I also took a train ride to the airport.
As an alternative to a train ride to the airport I´d recommend a taxi. The taxi prices in Barcelona are pretty low and it might be less stressful than a train ride after a long day in Barcelona and you wouldn´t need to adapt to departure times. A taxi ride from the city center depends on the time of the day, i.e. how much traffic is in the city. Once you get out of the city, it´s maybe another 15-20 minutes. If you plan with an hour for the ride, I think that you´re very much on the safe side.
Probably a silly question, but Easyjet is using the Barcelona airport and not some far away airport as Ryan Air does?
Cheers, Hans

The Estacio Barcelona Sants (this is the main train-station) has lockers available. There is also a direct train from the airport to this train-station. It leaves every 30 minutes (.29 and .59 at the airport I believe and .25 and .55 at the Estacio Sants) and takes about 15-20 minutes. Normally there is an elevated walkway from the airport terminals (between A and B), but this is momentarily closed. You can hop on a free bus between terminals A and B and this will take you in about 3 minutes to the train-station at the airport, there you can take the train to Estacio Sants.
At Estacio Sants you can take the metro (line 3 towards La Rambla and line 5 towards Sagrada Familia).

As Tommie above wrote, Barcelona Sants Station has the lockers with X-ray security gate that I used last time on 2nd of January this year bofore taking a train to the airport.
I used to use the lockers on the platforms of Barcelona Passig Gracia station until 1 year ago. That was more convenient as the station is in the city center but last January they were closed down(it had no security check - just lockers) that's why I had to use the lockers at Sants.
