LONDON: Visitor Oyster OR Oyster?

I posted previously about Oyster cards and Travelcards. I think an Oyster with three 7-day Travelcards is the best option, BUT, one more question- do I get a Visitor Oyster ahead of time OR a regular oyster there? Can Travelcards be loaded onto both types of Oyster cards?

You don't need 2 for 1 specials only available with paper TravelCards issued national rail stations in London?

Just get an Oyster Card when you get to London. No need to pay postage to have it send to you. I don't think there's any difference between a visitor and regular card - TFL says you 'only' pay 6,50 a day with a visitor card in zone 1 and 2, but that's true for all Oyster cards, or for paying with contactless cards.

There is no difference. Just get the Oyster and add the travelcard on arrival.

There is a difference - regular Oyster cards have a refundable deposit, Visitor Oysters have a non-refundable "activation fee."
