London, Paris, Venice, Rome, and a week of cruise. Need help planning.

Hi,
Will be in London for 4 nights, Paris for 3 nights, Venice for 2 nights and Rome for 3 nights and a week of cruise in meditrraneanian from Venice to Rome. Cruise will stop for a day on KOPER, SLOVENIA - SPLIT, CROATIA - DUBROVNIK, CROATIA - MESSINA, ITALY - NAPLES/POMPEII, ITALY.
Where to start? If anyone have been on any of above and have good idea how to plan a little sightseeing and more of the landmarks and museums visits on major cities, please share it. I do not take tours and I try to travel economy and do my own planning. If you could share what to do and not for hotels, rides, rent cars. I have been in Paris and am taking my wife to Europe for 1st time. THX, Moe

there are thousands of threads on here about all four cities. Starts by clicking "Destinations" at the top of this page and read up a bit. Then search on here since probably every question you can think of has been asked/answered. Maybe read a guidebook(s)

Then come back w/ a little more focus.

What is your budget for hotels?
What time of year?
How are you traveling between the cities - have you already booked?
What sorts of things interest you?

You don't have very much time in any of those places.
You won't want a car.

Hi moeardaki,
There is enough in each of these cities to keep you busy for weeks. Agree with janisj. Do some research on each city to find what is there that interests you. Why did you choose these four cities to start with? When you have narrowed down everything a bit more come back here and we can be of much more help.

In Split, see Diocletian's Palace. Old Town Dubrovnik is a UNESCO Heritage Site; Google for a list of special things to see.
