Hi,
I am an 18 year old girl from Michigan and will be traveling to Paris with my mom in less than a month. We are looking for the best restaurants that are undiscovered by tourists, but also the local favorites.
If anyone has any suggestions please let me know!

I imagine this is your first visit to Paris. Don't worry about trying to find untouristy restaurants or "where the locals eat". Just ask at your hotel for recommendations in the vicinity. There should be plenty within walking distance.

If you are outside the central 8 arrondissements most places will be 'undiscovered' . . . but 99+% of what you'll want to see/do are inside those arrondissements.

Visiting a major city like Paris is very different from visiting Disneyland. Unless it is an American chain restaurant, you will likely run into both locals and visitors in any restaurant you visit.

You are worrying about the wrong things.

Here is a tip to avoid over priced food that is usually not very good and served in a restaurant loaded with tourists...avoid eating in the restaurants right around major tourists sites. (That goes double if the menu posted in the window has multiple flags from multiple countries or with pictures of the food...usually aimed at unsuspecting tourists).

Walk several blocks away or several streets over and you are more likely to find what you are looking for.

It might be a bit cold in March for outdoor sitting at cafes but if they have the heaters sit outside and have lunch. People watching is very fun but watch your belongings.

We love eating on Rue Montorgueil and people watching. Great market St. It is a bit touristy but also the locals eat and shop here.
