My sister and I are leaving for our week in London in 6 days. Just left Sunday. Ivan is correct rain & cold! check out www.londontown.com they can tell you more than you can possibly want to know. I got a lot of info off this site before our trip. Check out the getting from the airport section, especially about the trains & busses(very nice) Taxi's will kill you & if you are running short & need to use a credit card, they charge 10% extra.From the Holiday Inn Kings Cross it was 99 Pounds total!

i live in london, and i am not aware of anything particular, but there's always something going on. My best advice is that you buy "Time Out" a london listings magazine, split into various sections, eg tourist attractions, special events, music,theatre, sport etc. It come out every wednesday and costs £1.90.

We just returned - be prepared for rain . Try and get to the London Eye - you can get on without having purchased tickets in advance (like we did) but get their early (9am-10a.m.) before the long lines start. It's worth it. Have fun
