Leaving for London in two days--Whoopee!!!!!

My sister and I are leaving for our week in London in 6 days. I am quite excited and wanted to take a break from packing (I am packing sparingly after reading another post on this forum!) to thank everyone who helped planning our trip.

One last question--is there anything extra-special going on in London next week that we should not miss?

Thank you again,

Alisa

Just don't forget to bring your mac with you! It's raining now and the weather will not improve for next few days. Welcome to London.

Just left Sunday. Ivan is correct rain & cold! check out www.londontown.com they can tell you more than you can possibly want to know. I got a lot of info off this site before our trip. Check out the getting from the airport section, especially about the trains & busses(very nice) Taxi's will kill you & if you are running short & need to use a credit card, they charge 10% extra. From the Holiday Inn Kings Cross it was 99 Pounds total!

A favor please. We recently returned from London and will be going back in July. There is a discount lodging firm at the train station. If you take the train from the airport, could you please send me the web site for them? Really appreciate it. Have a wonderful time in London.

i live in london, and i am not aware of anything particular, but there's always something going on. My best advice is that you buy "Time Out" a london listings magazine, split into various sections, eg tourist attractions, special events, music, theatre, sport etc. It come out every wednesday and costs £1.90.

We just returned - be prepared for rain . Try and get to the London Eye - you can get on without having purchased tickets in advance (like we did) but get their early (9am-10a.m.) before the long lines start. It's worth it. Have fun
