Keukenhof

Hi --- I am so excited to see the tulips in Keukenhof. We are going to buy a ticket for the gardens. I would like to either rent a bike or take the boat tour. What would you guys recommend? Has anyone done either of these things.

Enjoy!
You'll love it!
Buy the tickets on line prior your departure.

We, unfortunately, did not take either boat ride (it is new this year) or bike tour. We took bike tour in Amsterdam and Delft but missed tulips fields. AGHHH!

I was so upset that I did not think about it, we almost went this weekend! But is it 2 more hours drive for us each way... for one day... too much

I found this company www.rent-a-bike-bikevandam.nl where you can rent a bike ect.

Report back!
I'm jealous!

We were there on the 20th - it was beautiful. Definitely rent bikes to take a ride around the countryside. There is a place to rent them in the parking lot at Keukenhof - I think we paid 8E each to rent bikes...

Dukey,
I was there two weeks ago plus also, on the 15th. Just got back home yesterday.

We went to the Holland Tourist office (not the VVV) at Schiphol station stop and bought two senior bus and Keukenhof combo tickets for 17 euros each. The views of the tulip fields along the way were very impressive.

The bus ride was something else, especially for those standing as I had to do. I do believe the object of the driver was to see if he could cause standees to lose their grip on the pole or hanging straps as he zipped around the many roundabouts.

We took the boat ride, which we enjoyed, even though many of the tulip fields along the canals had been cut or were being cut.
