Itinerary for my friend Paris to Nice, route and hotel help please!
Hi there,
I am helping my friend plan a romantic trip to France after she writes her board exam for her Chartered Accountant designation. We both write in Sept.
She is going with her boyfriend/fiance and they both like the outdoors, wine, art, and food.
Her budget is about 100euros a night. They will have a car from Dijon to Nice. This is what I have so far:
Sept 17 – 21 Paris 5 nights Hotel St Jacques
Sept 22 – 25 Burgundy 4 nights hotel???
Sept 26 – 28 Lyon 3 nights ???
Sept 29 – Oct 2 Provence (Bonnieux Les clos du buis) 4 nights
Oct 3 – 6 Riveria 4 nights hotel ???
Oct 7 Paris 1 night fly home Oct 8 Hotel St Jacques
Any ideas for hotels, or a better route? Thank you so much!!
Jamie

That's a good itinerary, allowing adequate time in each region of France to be visited. However, I'd be tempted to take one night from Lyon and add it to Provence for a total of 5 in the western part of the region.
In Dijon there's a flat, myhomeindijon.com, that quite a few people on the Fodor site have enjoyed.
Budget is about 100 Euros a night...just for a hotel or for hotel and food?

Jami....I've suggested a Brit-owned and managed Chambres d'Hote in the hills north of the Riviera to several Fodorites...a great location, very romantic (we just spent 5 nights there in April)....easy half hour ride to many Riviera locations from Eze, Cap Ferrat, Monaco,Nice, Cannes and Antibes.
Rate is under 100 Euros (about 95 with sumptuous breakfast). Tourrettes-Sur-Loup is a delightful medieval town with excellent restaurant choices...roads are very good to all above mentioned locations..

Hi!!!
There is a very interesting website: http://www.discountcityhotels.net/. It proposes a lot of nice hotels in the most beautiful and pleasant locations of France. Discountcityhotels.net provides you with a wide range of french hotels to choose from.
Have a good time!!
Best wishes.

Hi Jamie,
If I remember well you're doing the same trip as well! Will you be traveling together?
I can see Underhill gave you my address, thanks Jean! but you can also check on www.cotedor-tourisme.com if you(she)want to stick to a hotel.
What agency did you choose eventually for your rental car?
