Byrd: If you type in the Search Box, Guenmai's Paris apartment rental experience, I have a thread there with descriptions of the rue de Buci area...starting around the post of April 17th.
I've stayed in that neighborhood since 1981. I just got back again a few months ago. You can also type in the Search Box the thread of, Which Apartment Would You Choose?" I extensively helped a poster with that neighborhood and have posted information there, too. I'll try topping both threads for you as I think I have them bookmarked. Happy Travels!

Guenmai: (I know we've had this discussion before and for some reason you don't like the advice)
But the easiest way to help isn't to top your threads - but to post the links like this:
fodors.com/community/europe/which-apartment-would-you-choose.cfm
fodors.com/community/europe/guenmais-paris-apartment-rental-experience.cfm
That way the OP can go straight to your threads w/o having to search or faff about w/ clicking on your name or looking for sinking threads.

Internet cafes are the kind of small business that pop up and then close down, sometimes quickly, so whatever was listed as being open 6 months ago may not now be open. Keep your eyes open and hope for the best.

If it's not too late for the OP, I assume that what's needed is not so much an internet café with its own machines (which are indeed few and far between, and expensive) as a café with free wifi. See:

Also the city of Paris has free wifi in public buildings and parks (in opening hours), though the one time I tried it, the connection was slow:

Reputedly, all MacDonalds in Paris have free wifi (never tried, myself), and branches of Columbus cafes will give you a password for half an hour.

If you walk up rue de Buci toward Place St Michel, it turns into rue St Andre des Arts. Go past the Starbucks and the theatre, Look down the side streets to the left. There is/was and internet cafe a few doors down. As I recall the storefront was painted yellow. It may be on rue Git le Coeur.

If it is still there...right on St. Andre des Arts, just a few doors down from the hotel at 61 RSAdA in the direction of Place St. Michel. Be sure to ask for a QWERTY keyboard, which they have, and will save you tons of time, and therefore money. They speak English and were most helpful.

Janisj: As I've mentioned many times before, that I do not know how to post links. Several people have written instructions on how to do it, but none of them have been "complete." So, until friends have time to "show" me how to do it, it won't get done. And since we're so busy with other things, we'll get to it whenever we get to it. Also, I don't find it too difficult to use the Search Box or scroll to the thread. I do it regularly. Happy Travels
