How best to get from Sweden to Copenhagen, hotel tips also
Going to a wedding in Northwest area of Sweden, Lutvika, renting a car. Anyone ever been there? Morhagen hotel? Want to travel to Denmark for a few days. Family of four. Should we drive or take a train or hydrofoil or what? Looking for fast, easy travel. Could go back to Stockholm and return car or keep car and drive. From Malmo I heard there is a train but do not know the specifics, time, cost, etc. Will it be difficult to park car in Copenhagen. Also, upscale hotel suggestions in Stockhom or Copenhagen.

Are you sure about the spelling? The route planners and maps I've tried haven't heard of Lutvika.
Anyway, I would recommend that you take the train. I drove from southwestern Sweden to Copenhagen last year. We went between Malmo and Copenhagen via the Oresund bridge (amazing!) Driving in Copenhagen was a bit of a nightmare (e.g. signs would be placed AFTER the junction they were referring to), although when we did find a place to park it was very central and pretty inexpensive (about $5 for the day).
Nevertheless, I would recommend the train. Less hassle, you still go via the Oresund bridge (albeit on the lower level).
And Sweden is a big country (in European terms). From Kiruna in the NW to Copenhagen is more than 1100 miles!

melr is correct about parking in Copenhagen. It can be difficult to find. However, I have always been able to find parking near the planetarium and along Gammel Kongevej. Also, you can park at the Radisson SAS Scandinavia hotel. They have a huge parking lot about 3/4 of a mile from downtown. I usually stay there BECAUSE they have a parking lot.

Perhaps the town you are thinking of is Ludvika which is northwest of Stockholm.
X-2000 train service from Stockholm to Copenhagen takes 5 hours and 24 minutes without change. Trains run throughout the day starting at around 5 AM and either every hour or every two hours after that until 6:15 PM..there are also direct night trains. Trains from Ludvika to Stockholm often require a change in Vasteras. Cannot help you with pricing but others may be able to.
In terms of the Copenhagen Marriott we stayed there last August. It is about a five-block walk from the main rail station as well as Tivoli which is across thew street from the station. The hotel is fairly new and many of the rooms have a water view...not of the ocean but of a very wide canal type affair. We were very pleased with the place...very scandinavian "modern" decorations..blond wood, etc., etc and since it was HOT in Copenhagen we appreciated the efficient air conditioning. Hope this helps a bit..have a great trip.
