hotel in Siena

Me, my wife and a couple of friends are going to Siena next week.

Please, can anyone indicate a hotel there, good, cheap clean and well located for tourists.

Thanks in advance

ak99,
Try Cannon D'Oro or a cheaper alternative Alma Domus.

ak99,

Several years ago we stayed at the Diomo hotel. www.hotelduomo.it/

The location is great, just up the street from the Campo. We had a room with a wonderful view of the Duomo, and there was a charming little terrace with rooftop views.

It was very clean and nice, and very Italian-feeling.

We loved Siena!

We stayed at Hotel Duomo two years ago and did not like it. Our room overlooked the street and there was noise all night. There are lots of stairs although there is an elevator that goes to the roof top terrace--but not to the rooms. Room was a bit generic in decor--no charm at all. And the room rate was not cheap.

I guess things have changed since we stayed at the Duomo.

I counted up, and it has been seven years since our visit, so I really shouldn't have recommended the hotel after that length of time.

nini, our room was on the same floor as the terrace, so we did have an elevator. Elevators are on my must-have list!

Thank you for correcting any misconceptions I might have caused!
